The fishing lakes are located in six districts, the department of Alabama wildlife, the freshwater fisheries division, and the department of conservation and natural resources control 23 public lakes in 20 counties with a total surface area of 1,912 acres, which ranges from 13 to 84 acres of lakes.
Here, the lakes are reserved for fishing and open to the public for fishing, the program was started in the 1940s and unchanged till now. The common fishes found here are large-mouth bass, bluegill, redear sunfish, channel catfish, and rainbow trout. During certain times of the year, thousands of people gather here for fishing.
